Old Gaffers Association of WA

We use our boats for more than just racing.

The OGA of WA aims to promote sailing in classic boats of all types and to support interest in Australia’s maritime heritage. You don’t have to be old, or even a gaffer, to join the OGA of WA. Indeed, some of us have sloop rigs and fibreglass hulls! The key thing is that you enjoy and appreciate classic boats and enjoy cruising, trips, and social racing.

We hold regular bi-monthly meetings, organise sailing events, and hold social events. A large part of our activities are in C-Fleet which consists of cruising dinghies and trailerable yachts. With these boats we have many adventures. We sail, row and motor the upper Swan, Canning, Murray, and Frankland Rivers. We sail Peel-Harvey, Nornalup, and Wilson inlets. We sail Cockburn, Warnbro, and King George Sounds, Wellington Dam and Lake Dumbleyung. We voyage to Penguin, Carnac, and Garden Islands. All this and more!
