Wellington Dam
Wellington Dam is a beautiful place to sail. Being a drowned river valley it has an intricate shoreline with lots to explore. However you need water in the dam! Spring time after a wet winter is your best bet. The water level will still be up and the weather warming up.

The ramp, seen on the right in the photo above, has a fairly shallow slope into the dam but is fine to use. The dam bottom in the vicinity of the ramp is smooth and rock hard, your anchor will simply slide across it. Moving your boat to the area in front of the camping area will give you better anchoring.
