Wilson Inlet offers a beautiful wilderness sailing experience. The inlet is 48 sq km in area, almost as large as Sydney Harbour. Typical sailing destinations within the inlet are: Fish Trap Beach, Powleys Landing, the Nullaki Boat Ramp, the beach on the east side of Pelican Point and, if depth permits, the bar at Ocean Beach.

Safety
Please note that Wilson Inlet is a large body of water. Sizeable waves can develop when the breeze comes in. Most of the shoreline is inaccessible and much of the northern shore is rocky. The water can be very cold.
It is strongly advised that you carry a radio. An EPIRB or PLB is also useful because without local knowledge it is unlikely that you will be able to effectively describe your position by radio to any rescuers. An anchor to hold your position in deeper water where rescuers can access you is also recommended. Make sure that you carry warm clothing and good wet weather gear.
