The inlet is 48 sq km in area, almost as large as Sydney Harbour. Typical sailing destinations within the inlet are: Fish Trap Beach, Powleys Landing, the Nullaki Boat Ramp, the beach on the east side of Pelican Point and, if depth permits, the bar at Ocean Beach. Two ramps with one providing direct access to a small beach to pull your boat up on. Toilets and cafe nearby. Camping at the Rivermouth Caravan Park over the road. When exiting the channel leading out into the inlet keep heading out in line with the channel for another hundred metres or so, the shallows on each side of the channel extend a bit beyond the last markers. Some people prefer to launch from the gravel section on the left hand side of the jetty. Only suitable for small boats. There is a small toilet block a short distance back up the access road. Has a nice jetty but is only suitable for small boats as it is shallow for some distance out from the shore. This is the drop off point for Bibbulmun walkers if they are taking a boat across the inlet. No facilities apart from some picnic tables back towards the car park. This is one of the few points with car access to the inlet along the Nullaki.
