Wilson Inlet offers a beautiful wilderness sailing experience.  The inlet is 48 sq km in area, almost as large as Sydney Harbour.   Typical sailing destinations within the inlet are:  Fish Trap Beach, Powleys Landing, the Nullaki Boat Ramp, the beach on the east side of Pelican Point and, if depth permits, the bar at Ocean Beach.

+Please note that Wilson Inlet is a large body of water. Sizeable waves can develop when the breeze comes in.  Most of the shoreline is inaccessible and much of the northern shore is rocky.  The water can be very cold.

+It is strongly advised that you carry a radio. An EPIRB or PLB is also useful because without local knowledge it is unlikely that you will be able to effectively describe your position by radio to any rescuers.  An anchor to hold your position in deeper water where rescuers can access you is also recommended.  Make sure that you carry warm clothing and good wet weather gear.

+When exiting the channel leading out into the inlet keep heading out in line with the channel for another hundred metres or so, the shallows on each side of the channel extend a bit beyond the last markers.

-A basic ramp across the inlet on the Nullaki.  Has a reasonable jetty but is only suitable for small boats as it is shallow for some distance out from the shore.  This is the drop off point for Bibbulmun walkers if they are taking a boat across the inlet.  No facilities apart from some picnic tables back towards the car park.  This is one of the few points with car access to the inlet along the Nullaki.+A basic ramp across the inlet on the Nullaki.  Has a nice jetty but is only suitable for small boats as it is shallow for some distance out from the shore.  This is the drop off point for Bibbulmun walkers if they are taking a boat across the inlet.  No facilities apart from some picnic tables back towards the car park.  This is one of the few points with car access to the inlet along the Nullaki.
